Street lights in the City of Shakopee are maintained by Shakopee Public Utilities. To report a street light outage, please contact them at (952) 445 - 1988 or customerservice@shakopeeutilities.com.
MnDOT owns all of the traffic signals located at exit and entrance ramps for Highway 169. To report outages on lights owned by MnDOT please contact them at (612) 725-2311.
The City of Shakopee owns the traffic signals at the following intersections:

2011 Bituminous Overlay Project
The Bituminous Overlay Project for the downtown streets and residential area is under way. The project will affect traffic slightly with temporary road closures, altered driving paths and detours. Please follow signage and do not drive on fresh blacktop until the rolling process is completed. Keep a safe distance away from all construction activities and equipment.

Downtown Parking
No parking signs will be posted 24 to 48 hours in advance on downtown streets that will be affected. Please use parking lots when crews are working on the streets near your business, apartment, home, etc. Crews will be working extended hours to help reduce the inconvenience.

2011 Street Reconstruction Project
The street reconstruction for 6th Avenue, 10th Avenue, and the presidential streets area is under way. The project includes full reconstruction of sanitary sewer, watermain, sanitary and water services, storm sewer and reconstruction of the road surface including curb & gutter and bituminous asphalt surface. The project will affect traffic slightly with temporary road closures, altered driving paths and detours. Please follow detours and signage and do not drive on fresh blacktop until the rolling process is completed. Keep a safe distance away from all construction activities and equipment.

2011 Seal Coat and Street Marking Project

Tentative Project Schedule (Weather Permitting):
- Parking Lot at NW corner of Fuller Street and First Avenue - On the morning of Monday, May 23, the lot will be closed. "No Parking" signs will be posted.
- Parking Lots at 400 Gorman Street (Public Works) and 500 Gorman Street (Engineering) - These lots will be closed the afternoon of Monday, May 23. "No Parking" signs will be posted.
- Lions Park Lots at the Aquatic Park, by the Youth Building (Cabin) and by the Playground and Picnic Area - These lots will be closed after scheduled activities the evening of Monday, May 23 and "No Parking" signs will be posted and barricades will block off the lot. Seal coat work will begin first thing on Tuesday, May 24.
- Parking Lot at 475 Gorman Street (Police Department) - This lot will be closed on Tuesday, May 24, and "No Parking" signs will be posted.
- City Streets throughout Town (See map for details) - There will be no parking or driving on designated city streets at various times between Tuesday, May 24 and Friday, May 27 for seal coat work. The roads will be closed.
General Information about the Project:
- Anyone parking in a lot designated as "No Parking" when work is scheduled to begin will be ticketed and towed.
- Lots will be reopened within a few hours of the work being completed. However, the lots will have loose rock on them.
- Lots are expected to be restriped during the second week in June. Lots will be closed again at that time.
Seal Coat Reminder for Drivers:
Seal coat is a mixture of oil and fresh rock. When the oil and rock are first applied, go slowly or stay off the roadway/parking lot to avoid damage to your vehicle. If you see oil, loose rock and equipment working on the streets, please stay back for everyone's safety (the equipment operators may not see you).
